Size Does Not Make a Profession
This month's column makes the case that environmental health is an essential player in the health of the nation. The actual size of our profession and how that relates to other public health professions is explored. The broad reach of our profession is discussed in anecdotes related to emergency response, the U.S. military, and the current government focus on incorporating health into all areas of governance. The consensus arrived upon is that environmental health professionals are a strategic national asset and that NEHA will be working tirelessly to advocate for.
