This position is with the Foodborne and Enteric Diseases (FED) program within the Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP) Division. The primary focus of the RRT Coordinator is to lead Tennessee's Rapid Response Team (RRT). RRTs are multi-agency, multi-disciplinary teams that operate using Incident Command System (ICS)/ National Incident Management System (NIMS) principles and a Unified Command structure to respond to human and animal food emergencies. The desired outcome of RRT development is to minimize the time between agency notification of a human or animal food contamination event and implementation of effective control measures.
The CEDEP Division is responsible for conducting communicable and environmental disease surveillance, including for foodborne, hepatitis, TB, healthcare-associated, vaccine- preventable, HIV, sexually transmitted, and vector borne/zoonotic diseases. The FED program is responsible for conducting active surveillance of foodborne and enteric pathogens and working with local, state, and federal partners to investigate outbreaks associated with enteric (gastrointestinal) illness.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, or health informatics; or
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in a health science, biomedical science, or environmental science field with experience equivalent to two years' work experience in epidemiology
