The Environmental Health Program Coordinator for our Onsite Wastewater Treatment & Well Water Programs works as part of our Environmental Health team and manages and coordinates all activities associated with the Onsite Wastewater Treatment and Water Well Program. This includes but is not limited to, the training, supervision, and administration of personnel involved with promoting environmental health and enforcing environmental health laws and regulations, advising environmental health staff in matters relating to food safety, water wells, and/or onsite wastewater treatment systems (including inspection, training and enforcement of ordinance provisions) and ensuring the Food Protection, Onsite Wastewater Treatment and/or Water Well Programs continue to meet or exceed compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requirements for local health departments and county ordinances.
Qualifications
Illinois Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner (LEHP) or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
Four years of relevant Environmental Health experience, including two years in the program-level regulation (permitting/licensing, plan reviews, policy development, and application, staff training, etc.) of the program(s) being coordinated by the position (water well, food protection, or onsite wastewater treatment programs).
Possession of a valid Driver’s License, supplemented by a satisfactory driving record.
