Globally, environmental health is rapidly being recognized as a critical science-based discipline needed for protecting human, animal, and ecological health. Such recognition and tremendous excitement were achieved as over 400 academicians and practitioners convened in Jamaica in October 2017 for the One Health: One Global Environment Conference, the 2017 International Federation of Environmental Health's Academic World Conference and Global Environmental Health Faculty Forum. This guest column provides a summary of the conference, discusses the partnerships involved, highlights the student participation, and looks to the work ahead to continue the momentum of environmental health within the global One Health framework.
